(Food Engineering and Biotechnology) from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Main interest: Brittle foods mechanics, powder technology, risk assessment and modeling microbial populations dynamics, nonlinear kinetics, moisture sorption and shelf life. Publication referee of many journals and of grant proposals of several national and international funding agencies. Consulting: Powder Technology and Food Processing. Has been an invited speaker to international conferences and seminars in more then 20 countries. Over 350 technical publications, including one book entitled Advanced quantitative microbiology for food and biosystems: Models for predicting growth and inactivation, 22 web pages with free downloadable MS Excel programs and over 70 interactive programs in the Wolfram's Demonstration Project to date.
